Colorete is a block theme for selling make-up, skincare and perfume. The new collection on the first screen, product grids powered by WooCommerce and the skincare routine in three steps. With no JavaScript of its own and nothing asked of any server out there.

It is not a mock-up. This is the theme's home page actually running, with its photos and its eight demo products.

A shop and a services site, the same theme

Colorete does not force you to sell. If one day you remove WooCommerce —or you set the site up for a studio that works by appointment—, the shop home swaps itself for the services one: the treatments that get booked most, with their “from” price, how to book, and the phone number. Without touching a line of code and without leaving a hole: the cart in the header goes away with the shop.

What it comes with

Measured on the theme you download, not on a list of promises.

Seven block templates: home, post, page, archive, search, index and 404.
Fifteen patterns in three groups (shop, home and loose pieces) to paste the whole home page or just the part you want into any page.
Two fonts inside the theme: Marcellus for headings and Open Sans for text, as woff2 files in the folder. Nothing asked of Google or anyone else.
Palette and type in theme.json: eight colours, two families and five sizes. Change them from the editor, no code touched.
No JavaScript of its own and not a single request to an outside server. Check the HTML: it only loads its fonts, its photos and its stylesheet.
Spanish translation inside the theme, with contexts: the “Shop” in the menu and the “Shop” in the footer are translated separately when they should be.
WooCommerce support declared: without it the shop comes out with no buttons and no notices. With the plugin, the grid, the cart and the checkout inherit the design.

What you need

WordPress 6.5 or newer (tested up to 7.1) and PHP 8.1.
WooCommerce, if you are going to sell. The theme works without it, but the grids stay empty.
Nothing else: no paid builders, no required plugins, no subscriptions.

What it does not do

It loads no JavaScript of its own and calls neither Google, Facebook nor any outside service.
It sets no third-party cookies and no trackers.
It asks for no account and no licence to work.

How to get it running

Download the .zip and upload it in Appearance → Themes → Add new → Upload theme.
Activate it. The home page is already built with the theme's patterns.
Change the words and the photos in the editor and publish your products in WooCommerce. The grids fill themselves.

Quick questions

Is it really free?

Yes, GPL licence, with no paid version and no missing modules. Download it, upload it and use it for your clients or for your own shop.

Does it work without WooCommerce?

Yes, and with nothing to do: without WooCommerce the theme switches itself to services mode —the services home with the most booked treatments—, the cart goes away and no grid is left empty. The theme is meant for selling, but it does not force you to. With WooCommerce active, the shop, the product page and the cart come from its own templates.

Can I change the colours and the type?

Yes. The palette (rose, pale rose, ink and greys) and the two typefaces (Marcellus and Open Sans) are declared in the editor: change them there and every pattern follows.

What about the demo photos?

They are photos made for the demo and they ship with the theme. If you put your shop online, swap them for your own: in the editor it is drag and drop.

Which languages does it speak?

Spanish and English. The Spanish translation ships inside the theme, with its contexts.
